Exchanges - Bitcoin

Weekly update. 437 BTC were traded using LocalBitcoin last week, trading Bs. /BTC and BTC/Bs. (Bolivares, Venezuelan "official" currency, ISO VES). These 437 BTC were 1,852,000,000,000 Bs. One BTC is around 4,600,000,000 Bs. Monthly minimum wage is less 2 USD. PhD uni professor earns 4 USD monthly.

Hi guys, wanted to updated last week numbers.
This is only measured in BTC and LocalBitcoins. There are other exchanges that accept Bolivares like Binance and Airtm but I think they dont have a open API. Paxful stoped working here a few weeks ago.
And remember, two years ago 5 zeroes were deleted from the currency. So the price of the BTC would be 460,000,000,000,000 "old" Bs.
September will closed with around USD 20,000,000 (around 2000 BTC) traded with LocalBitcoin
Here are more stats https://www.usefultulips.org/combined_VES_Page.html
Monthly minimum wage is 800,000 Bs. one USD is around 440,000 Bs. So that is where the 2 USD monthly comes. These 800,000 Bs. already include a cash food bonus.

Moons, tips and work by reddits have helped me so much!
Some people insist that minimum monthly wage is not real, but it is. I have relatives that are public workers and earn that. Some with studies and time working could reach 20 minimum wages according to the tables, that would be anyway under 50 USD monthly.
Private companies, well a little more. A cashier in a supermarket could earn around 50 USD monthly.
The Venezuela College of Engineers, has a table for the recomended wages. The minimum wage they propose for a engineer without any experiencie is 90,000,000 Bs. / monthly, which is around 200 USD. And... good luck finding a place that pays that

One professor with PhD, national science award and 21 years teaching earns less than 4 USD monthly. You can see the testimony here https://twitter.com/katika48/status/1304506604147159040?s=19 (I think you have the option to trasnlate the tweet)
The average income of Venezuelan is 0.72 USD daily (2020 numbers), so we are talking around 20 USD monthly, and that is an AVERAGE with all that means.

Updating the numbers, the last week we were under 400 BTC first time in a long time. This week the volume recovered, so we are still at around 2,000 BTC monthly.
This is only measured using LocalBitcoin, there are other exchanges like AIRTM, Uphold, Binance and so on, but no open data). Most of the Localbitcoin trades are in Bolivares.
I recommend reading this website, it is one of the best english websites for Venezuela news (they sometimes touch the crypto and economic situation).

Hi guys,
I'm Venezuelan living here and have taken the time to track and share this weekly numbers.
Considering now the goverment is officially taking BTC to pay for passports, https://www.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/her9xg/venezuela_government_is_officially_taking_bitcoin/
I think a part of that weekly Localbitcoin volumen comes directly for the goverment. It has been around 2,000 BTC monthly for months! (only measured using LocalBitcoin, there are other exchanges like AIRTM, Uphold, Binance and so on, but no open data). Most of the Localbitcoin trades are in Bolivares.

People always ask what the the average salary, not the minimum. Well I would say around 20-50 USD monthly. One doctor is around 30 USD. Teacher around 20 USD. Junior engineer maybe 50 USD (The engineers collegue "suggests" around 200 USD monthly, but it is hard to find a place with these wages)

Round up of Cryptocurrency News #10 Week 28/09 - 4/10

Hello and sorry all its been about a month since serious post. So what has happened this week? 1. Kucoin exchange was hacked for over $150 Million in Bitcoin. Bitfinex and Tether freezes $33 Million of stolen funds. Over this past week we have seen many cryptocurrencies on the exchange be released from the freeze. However, users are still waiting on the main cryptos to be released as KuCoin is working on their security of their platform to make sure it does not happen again. The hacker itself tried to dump his tokens over Binance... Good try lol https://news.bitcoin.com/kucoin-hack-17m-laundered-via-decentralized-exchanges-blockchain-analysis-firm-claims-this-can-still-be-traced/ (HOLY MOLY) https://news.bitcoin.com/kucoin-ceo-says-exchange-hack-suspects-found-204-million-recovered/ 2. Bitcoin outperforms Gold, Nasdaq, 10 year treasury and S&P 500. not surprising at all for us but still very interesting, Bitcoin is up 48% since the start of the year. It appears more people are becoming interested in cryptocurrency as Bitcoin continues to be the best performing asset not just in the past 10 years but of all time. On a more personal note, I was at a small gathering today (within covid restrictions) and I was just saying how i was really interested in cryptocurrency. For the first time ever everyone around me was really interested in what it was and how it worked also talked to a lot of my stock market friends and almost all have pulled out or thinking of pulling out. related: https://dailyhodl.com/2020/10/01/report-details-unprecedented-levels-of-wall-street-interest-in-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrency/ https://dailyhodl.com/2020/10/02/former-goldman-institutional-trader-says-large-investors-now-buying-bitcoin-and-gold-at-same-pace-heres-why/ 3. CBDC news - US federal reserve is actively working on the a digital dollar. From a previous post we know that the European Union is working on a Digital Euro and China is working on their own digital dollar. For me this is a bit of a worrying issue and seems like an upgrade for their own outdated systems completely removing the idea of decentralisation. In addition to this, I find it interesting that in Australia all cryptocurrency tax laws were written in late 2017/2018 and continues to be adapted. In Russia their are harsh penalties for unreported cryptocurrency holdings. In my controversial view I think the technology of blockchain can actually be used to recreate and rewrite a much better future through its innate abilities. we can avoid things like this: https://news.bitcoin.com/jpmorgan-fraud-billion-dollar-settlement/ 4. Highlights on cryptojacking - if you dont know what this is it is when a script or code runs on a computer to mine cryptocurrency using your computer resources. You can block these using other programs or scripts and being safe over the internet. 5. World economic forum names XRP as crypto asset most relevant in central bank digital currency space. Many partnerships in the space plus flare coming later. https://dailyhodl.com/2020/09/30/ripple-matchmaking-effort-discovered-featuring-170-financial-institutions-is-xrp-front-and-cente i definitely have a love hate relationship with XRP. 6. https://dailyhodl.com/2020/09/28/defi-movement-shatters-11000000000-in-total-crypto-assets-locked/ https://news.bitcoin.com/uniswap-captures-2-billion-locked-dex-volume-outpaces-second-largest-centralized-exchange/ 7. https://www.ey.com/en_au/blockchain/blockchain-platforms 8. https://dailyhodl.com/2020/09/29/twitter-ceo-jack-dorsey-says-bitcoin-and-blockchain-will-fuel-financial-freedom-and-transform-future-of-content-delivery/ 9. https://news.bitcoin.com/easily-spend-your-bitcoin-via-prepaid-debit-card-or-a-paypal-account-with-bitcoin-of-americas-easy-to-use-trading-platform/ 10. https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-com-exchange-to-list-aspire-and-aspire-gas-as-newest-digital-asset-creation-platform-comes-to-market/ 11. https://news.bitcoin.com/onecoin-victims-petition-establishment-european-crypto-fraud-compensation-fund/ 12. https://news.bitcoin.com/atari-announces-ieo-collaboration-and-listing-of-the-atari-token-with-bitcoin-com-exchange/ Atari also partners with Cryptocurrency project ULTRA. What is bitcoin farming? Is it worth it in 2020?

Are you looking forward to investing in cryptocurrency? Well, one of the first cryptocurrency that comes to your mind is Bitcoin. The pioneering cryptocurrency has paved the way for some remarkable transformations in the world of financial technology. Bitcoin works on a Blockchain platform that enables peer-to-peer interaction, and there is no interference from the third-party. In addition to the revolution which Bitcoin created, it lead to the surge of many cryptocurrencies. Presently, around 500 cryptocurrencies are floating in the market.
Before going ahead to explore about Bitocin farms and bitcoin farming, let’s have a glance at some eye-popping stats:

· Around 5% of Americans hold Bitcoin
· There are around 7.1 million active Bitcoin users
· One of the best cryptocurrency exchanges, Coinbase has more than 13 million users
The volume of Bitcoin trading from peer-to-peer exchange LocalBitcoin shows that countries like Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, and many African companies are jumping into the pool of cryptocurrency trading. With Bitcoin being an all-time favorite of many investors, other cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and many others have generated a fair amount of popularity.
What does it mean for us?
Any individual who wishes to invest in Bitcoin must have a fair knowledge about Bitcoin and Bitcoin farming. In simple words, Bitcoin farming is all about extracting value from Bitcoin. Bitcoin miners, similar to framers, work on a complex algorithm and extract value from it.
In simple words, Bitcoin farmers or miners, as we know them, work on computational problems, they ensure that the system is secure, and using this, they solve complex problems. The ones who can solve these complex problems get a reward in the form of Bitcoin.
All these transactions and records are stored on the Bitcoin ledger, making it tamper-free and hacks- proof. There are two ways via which you can start exploring more about Bitcoin, you can either star working as Bitcoin farmer or miner, and work in computation problems or you can start investing in it by choosing the best cryptocurrency exchange platforms.
Investing in cryptocurrencies is the best move that you can make. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will surely make a strong presence in the future, and this is the right time to start investing in it.
You can opt from the different Bitcoin exchange platform. Some of the best cryptocurrency exchanges you can consider are Coinbase, Binance, CashApp, Bisq, and many others. You can choose from either of these and start your investment in Bitcoin.
If you wish to invest in Bitcoin, then you can also consider buying using Bitcoin ATM. You can buy and sell Bitcoin from Bitcoin ATM using cash or debit card. There are some Bitcoin ATM that allows you to sell and purchase Bitcoin.
Conclusion
This was the basic information about Bitcoin farming and Bitcoin trading. If you are futuristic and wish to invest in it, this is the right time to start your investment journey. Ensure that you thoroughly assess the market and study the market trend, based on it; you can start working on it.

493 BTC were traded in Venezuela using LocalBitcoin (down from 544) last week, buying BTC with FIAT and selling BTC for FIAT (Bolivares, Venezuelan official currency). 544 BTC were 999,452,000,000 Bs. (Bolivares). One BTC is around 2,180,000,000 Bs. Monthly minimum wage is less than 5 USD

Just wanted to update the numbers, two weeks ago we were under 400 BTC first time in a long time. This week the volume recovered, so we are still at around 2,000 BTC monthly.
This is only measured using LocalBitcoin, there are other exchanges like AIRTM, Uphold, Binance and so on, but no open data as far as I know. Most of the Localbitcoin trades are in Bolivares.

Weekly update. 431 BTC were traded using LocalBitcoin last week, trading Bs. /BTC and BTC/Bs. (Bolivares, Venezuelan "official" currency, ISO VES). These 431 BTC were 1,825,000,000,000 Bs. One BTC is around 4,800,000,000 Bs. Monthly minimum wage is less 2 USD. PhD uni professor earns 4 USD monthly.

Hi, hope you are doing ok. I'm "ok" considering the situation, but it is ok. 8h daily blackouts are common.
And remember, two years ago 5 zeroes were deleted from the currency. So the price of the BTC would be 480,000,000,000,000 "old" Bs.
September will close with around USD 20,000,000 traded with LocalBitcoin
The trade is only measured ONLY using LocalBitcoin, there are other exchanges like AIRTM (this one banned by the Goverment), Uphold, Binance and so on, but no open data as far as I know. Most of the Localbitcoin trades are in Bolivares (BTC to BS and BS to BTC).
Here are more stats https://www.usefultulips.org/combined_VES_Page.html
Monthly minimum wage is 800,000 Bs. one USD is around 430,000 Bs. So that is where the 2 USD monthly comes. These 800,000 Bs. already include a cash food bonus.
https://www.caracaschronicles.com/
Some people insist that minimum monthly wage is not real, but it is. I have relatives that are public workers and earn that. Some with studies and time working could reach 20 minimum wages according to the tables, that would be anyway under 50 USD monthly.
Private companies, well a little more. A cashier in a supermarket could earn around 50 USD monthly.
The Venezuela College of Engineers, has a table for the recomended wages. The minimum wage they propose for a engineer without any experiencie is 90,000,000 Bs. / monthly, which is around 200 USD. And... good luck finding a place that pays that
http://www.civ.net.ve/uploaded_pictures/70_d.pdf
One professor with PhD, nationa science award and 21 years teaching earns less than 4 USD monthly.

997,741,394,988 Bs. (bolivares) were traded in LocalBitcoin Venezuela last week (ATH in Bs.), that amount is 537 BTC. In both ways (Bs. to BTC and BTC to Bs.). One BTC is 1,940,000,000 Bs. Monthly minimum wage is 5 USD.

Hi guys,
Remember Venezuelan "living" here.
As I always say, it is steady 2000 BTC monthly (only measured using LocalBitcoin, there are other exchanges like AIRTM, Uphold, Binance and so on)
Finally, goverment increased the price of the gasoline. Now one litre is 50 USD cents (one gallon is 1.9 USD). Old price was: 1 litre of gasoline = 0.0000000003 USD.
As the wages are that low, you have a subsidized amout of 120 litres monthly (120 litres for 3 USD).
